Several years ago I heard a song from The Beatles, In my Life, recited by the actor Sean Connery. I got captivated by his voice immediately. He has got a soft tone mixed with the maturity of years, and the intonation and rhythm he uses to recite the song are really wonderful . Those things together with the melody transported me directly to the places the song describes, and made me feel aware of how we leave things behind and continue with our lives, but there are always things that make you remember something else.
When I heard the song for the first time, the Internet were not an available tool for me, so I decided to copy the song by listening to it many times( I think many of you have done this, at least once in your life!!). The lyrics accompanied me many times when I missed my hometown. or when I missed certain people that were not near me anymore. Then, as time went by and I could afford to get the Internet at home, I could get the lyrics, and now I would like to share this song with you. I hope that you can enjoy it as much as I did.

(Note: the original song with its music is also beautiful.)
Here are the lyrics:
In my Life (The Beatles)
There are places I remember
All my life, though some have changed
Some forever, not for better
Some have gone and some remain
All these places had their moments
With lovers and friends I still can recall
Some are dead and some are living
In my life I've loved them all
But of all these friends and lovers
There is no one compares with you
And these memories lose their meaning
When I think of love as something new
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
Though I know I'll never lose affection
For people and things that went before
I know I'll often stop and think about them
In my life I love you more
In my life I love you more
Hi, QueenV
ReplyDeleteI heard this song some time ago, but I have to admit that I didn´t pay much attention to the lyrics. It´s a nice and emotive melody!
Thanks for your posting! It reminds me of those days, when I spent hours in front of my radio, trying to copy the lyrics of my favourites songs.

It is an incredible song performed by The Beatles. I really like such a beatiful band. This song expresses a lot of love as many other songs of The Beatles. As you mentioned before, I spent many times listening to English songs in order to copy teir lyrics. Nowadays, it is easier to have it!!!
