Books... will they exist tomorrow?

What do you think? Are books in danger of extinction? Do people care about books? Do YOU read books? Watch this video called "The future of publishing". Do you agree with the girl's opinion? Which message do you like best?

  2. I really like this video! But I don´t think that books are in danger of extinction. Books will never die because they are part of our culture, our identity. I think that this video is to call the attention of those people who don´t care about books. In my case, I like reading and I like buying books, but I prefer reading a printed book to reading an online version.

  3. I was astonished after listening and watching this video! What an original way of conveying a message! In my opinion, it is impossible that books can die. Although there are online versions of many books, it is not the same to read the printed version. Whenever I can, I buy one, or if I have not money I use to enter to the bookshop and keep reading the ones I am interesting in. Books transmit knowledge, peace, love, history, help and laugh. Definitely, books will never die.

  4. I don´t think that books are in danger of extinction, but I believe that as the girl said in the first message, young people have completely lost the habit of reading because of the influence of the internet and other things that catch their attention more than books. In my opinion, it is our job as teachers to motivate our students to read and make them realize how important books are to enrich their culture.

  5. Excellent message!!! Very well done!!! This message really represents what people think about books. Oposed opinions, in fact two extremes to show what books mean to society. Fortunatly, in my opinion there is and will be people who enjoy a story, information and all kinds of knowledge trhough a books, so that is why I don’t think they are in danger of extintion.

  6. I partially agree with the girl in one aspect: "...it is the end of publishing..." I think that the problem with books is not just losing the habit of reading them, but their availability on the internet and the ease to obtain them without having to pay. From my own experience, I can say that sometimes the internet offers an easiest way to obtain a book without any cost or need to go to a bookshop and wait for them to bring it; it is much faster and cheapest. Besides, there are many online libraries from where you can see the e-book version. On the other hand I think that books are valuable sources to have at home. So, when it is possible I buy them, but if not, there´s no excuse for not reading.

  7. I found really original the way this girl conveyed the message. I think that books are not dying. There will always be people who like to read or who prefer to enjoy a book rather than other sources of entertainment. So, in my opinion, books are not in danger of extinction.

  8. I´m really surprised. It is an amazing video because it shows a very clear message in an easy way.In my opinion books are not dying;on the contrary, they will exist for ever. As a child I used to read a lot comics, novels anything. I enjoyed reading, and I spent the whole nigth doing that. I used to create an imaginary world in my mind. I crated the setting, the time and charactears. I really loved that because I used the power of imaganation to create that magic world.Nowadays teenagers lost the habit of reading because of the bad influence of TV, internet or just society.I think that is not good because they do not use their minds, their imagination, their creativity anymore.Reading is very important for all of as.

  9. I enjoyed the video very much!!!! I think that reading a book is not dying... It's just that people, specially young people, have found a new way of doing that. I hope that reading itself won't die. I will be really worried if people prefered a movie rather than reading a book. I love reading novels and stories because i can be whoever I want , or I can become into another person. It's fantastic!. A long time ago I heart from an interview, I think it was Adolfo Bioy Casares who said that he wouldn't like to make a movie because "if I made a movie based on " El Perjurio de la Nieve" it would be only one (description of )Oribe, or Villafañe..."

  10. Awesome!!! What an interesting way of presenting opinions!!
From my point of view, Books won't disappear. They could survive in spite of the numerous inventions and the power of technology. Nowadays you can have a complete library in your computer, I actually do, but there is nothing like holding o book, turning the pages or even smelling the aroma of paper.
Furthermore, you can take your book wherever you are, you can read in the toilet, while you travel or sunbathe; you don't need electricity, just the sunrays or a candle.

  11. It reminds me of one of Asimov's stories. Do you remember it? It was about the future and how books and schools had dissapeared.
